Since Tye and I had work off for Memorial day, and the girls did not have school, we decided to take the girls out for a day of fun. This also gave Mommy Scarlet and Grandma Pat Pat a day of quiet. :)
We took them down to see my moms new puppys and then we took them bowling. They loved it! And so did I. It was a great day out of the house, spending time with some of my favorite people.
Olivia bowling... yes.. it takes forever for the bowling ball to make it to the pins.. and yes, I am surprised the ball did not go strait through the floor every time she lobbed it.. and worst of all.. her score was more than double what mine was...
Avery bowling... This kid cracks me up! She would get so excited after she threw the ball that she would turn around and yell oh yeah... We would then have to remind her to turn around and watch to she how she did before getting excited. By the second game.. she had got it down.
Madison... she did not waste any time. Most of the time she would scream like Tarzan when she would run to throw the ball... it was awesome.

Thanksgiving point Half Marathon
I signed up for a half marathon in November. I thought if I signed up, it would motivate me to run all winter long. Well.. It sorta did. I did train more this winter than ever before.. however.. not enough to say that I was prepared. So I am nervous... to make matters worse.. the day before my race.. it snows. Nothing that stick on the ground though.. so I am a little more worried about this race than I was before.
Saturday morning I get up at 5:30 am.. and there is 2 to 3 inches of snow at my house, and its still coming down. I was sick to my stomach... But I got up.. and got ready.. and went to the race.
Here is a a picture about 10 minutes before the race starts. The sky is clearing up.. But its still SO SO SO cold.
The race was so hard. This course had lots of ups and down. Not my favorite course, but it was beautiful! Running through the tulip festival, with the snow on all of the flowers.. and the sun coming out. I could smell the cherry blossoms, and the air was super clear. It ended up being a pretty fun race.
Here I am.. closing in on the finish line.
And crossing!!! I made it! The time on the clock is not my real time. Its a chip timed race.. which means that your time starts when you cross the starting line. I did not get to the starting line right at first.. so my real finishing time was 2:44. That is 20 seconds faster than my time on the halloween half! And this course was tougher!!! I did awesome!!! So awesome that after I crossed the finish line, I started to cry. It was such a great moment!!
After the race.. with the finish line in the back ground!!
Around mile 5 I feel a blister coming on... I did not want my life to be miserable. So I named my Blister.. that way I could talk to it, and hopefully not get a bad attitude. A bad attitude, with 8 miles left to go.. could be disastrous. I would like you to meet... ANDREW the blister.
In case you could not spot him above.. I circled him... Biggest blister I have ever had..
I am really glad that I signed up for this race, and that I finished it. It was a true race against myself. And I won. :)
